The Indian government has concluded that every married pair needs to have a marriage certificate after the marriage under the different acts: the Hindu Marriage Act, Indian Christian Marriage Act, Parsi Marriage Act, etc.
For Arranged Marriage (to get registration certificate after Marriage)
How to obtain a Marriage Registration Certificate? if you get married and want to get the certificate (Memorandum of Marriage see Section 6 & Rule 5 under Maharashtra Regulation Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages 1998)
1) Applicant Has To Apply In The Prescribed Form. The Age Limit For Bridegroom 21 Years And Bride Is 18 Years.
2) Purchase ‘Form D’ from Municipality office (ward office) for Rs. 16/- for Mumbai; it is online and paid online.
3) Fill the form correctly with all the above-said documents & get an appointment. ( Usually, they give after 20 to 30 days due to over workload.) For Marriage done in Mumbai, the link of the application of form is given end of the article.
4) At that date, come with three witnesses & all original documents. Sing before authority.
5) Paid the fees and give a photocopy of the receipt to the officer & come after 7 to 15 days. Document To Be Attached: All Above Document Along With Original +1 Attested Xerox Copy A) Bridegroom / Bride:-
1. Age Proof: Leaving Certificate OR Passport OR Birth Certificate R Domicile Certificate OR Board certificate of SSC or HSC
2. Residential Proof: Adhar Card, Ration Card OR Passport OR Election Card OR Light Bill OR Telephone Bill of Own Name. (Imp. The bride has to produce proof before Marriage)
3. Photo I.D. Proof: Election Card OR Pan Card OR Aadhar card OR Passport
4. Photographs Individual of both 5 Passport size. and 2 Joint Photo of both in size of 2 inch X 3 inch (Horizontal)
B) Three (3) Witness Proof:- (Any person above 18 years.)
1. Residential Proof: Ration Card OR Passport OR Election Card OR a. Light Bill OR Telephone Bill of Own Name. (Imp. The bride has to produce proof before Marriage)
2. Photo I.D. Proof: Election Card OR Pan Card OR Aadhar card OR Passport 3. Photograph 1 P.P. Size
C) Original Wedding Card
D) Joint Declaration Affidavit:- On Stamp Paper of Rs.100=00, affidavit of both Husband & Wife is also required.
Where can we obtain a certificate? Marriage is done in Mumbai (or a particular municipal area like Thane, Virar, etc.), and Husband or Wife Living can get the Marriage Certificate municipal ward office.
